A healthy snack food isn't a contradiction in terms! If you're looking for a healthy snack recipe or a low calorie snack, then these may be what you're looking for.These low calorie snack ideas are a great option if you love your snacks but are trying to watch your weight or eat healthier. They're one of the easiest snacks to make, and you can prepare lots ahead of time so there's always something healthy in the fridge to snack on. I call them Veggie Dippers. How To Make The key to a successful veggie dipper is to choose the right vegetables. They should be solid and be able to be cut into chip sized portions. I find the best ones to use are carrots, celery and cucumber. For carrots and cucumbers, simply peel the skin off with a vegetable peeler and cut in half. Then cut each half into sticks the same size as a French Fry. For celery, trim the leaves from the stalk if there are any, and then wash under cold water. Then, like the carrots and cucumbers, simply slice into sticks. Now it's a matter of just dipping them into your favourite dip and eating! I quite like a guacamole dip (with maybe a bit of sour cream as well) and that goes well with anything. Celery goes really well with a spicy salsa dip but you can use any dip you like. When you're slicing the veggies up, remember you can make extra, and keep it in the fridge in an air-tight container.
